Web Bible Study

-Here's the deal. Mom - you work full time. Kelli - you have two energetic daughters, and run a business. April - you have two energetic kids and you live far away. Me - I work full time and have a hard time getting the energy up to travel. So, the solution? Internet/Web bible study. Now, I'm not saying you have to post every day or even every week. Here's the structure to this all. I will send an e-mail with the user name and password. No more than one post a day so every one can get a chance to see it. I know that the thing I dislike most about bible studies is the books. So, we will create our very own personal bible study. We are all very bright women and can come up with our own ways to reach out to each other. Whether it is a bible verse or just words of wisdom or if it's just asking for help. This is a way for us all to stay connected. A place to turn to or a group of friends to come to. So, I will start!
-We are the heir to God's promise-

"After starting your Christian lives in the spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort?"- Galations 3:3

-What I get out of this verse is after you have had a taste of Christ being your center, how can you try and be perfect on your own? It's almost like YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER! Don't be silly and try and manipulate your world when all you have to do is give up all control to Christ. I know that the business of all of our lives can distract us from the real answer. So, when I get really frustrated at work and catch myself trying to make things perfect through my own hands is pointless. Really, you just need to stop, breath, and trust. Trust that He is watching out for you. Realize that you are not in control. There may not always be an answer to what is going on, but just trust that He knows what is best for YOU. He has a plan, you just need to live your life for Him. PERIOD.

  1. Hi Jay! Great idea and such truth here. Yes, it's all about surrender. Sounds so easy - but sometimes we forget. I love you!

  2. What a snazzy site! I love how the pictures and text scroll. What a lovely (and I do mean lovely) thing this is! I like the structure yet not so structured! What a smarty you are.
I think being married, having children, and all the other small and large pieces of life we take on force us, more or less, to 1) realize the perfection is unattainable, and 2) realize that we have so little to do with anything good that comes from our lives. The enemy wants us to tell ourselves that we are exempt from the temptation to pursue perfection with our own "hands", so even more reason to remind ourselves of this truth.

  4. The thought of trying to become perfect by our own efforts sounds like an exhausting and unending task. Thank goodness the Lord does all the hard work!
