-"Even though we've disobeyed Him and done wrong, He wasn't turned away from us. God is determined not to lose us."
*I got this out of one of my many bible study books. But, what stuck out to be was the fact that God is DETERMINED not to lose us. Number one, DETERMINED is a strong word and is one word that speaks many to me. Another thing is that if someone were to say that to you - "I am determined not to lose you." You are almost guaranteed to blush (given the right circumstances). But, now that the creator of all feels that way for YOU - now that is dedication. Am I making sense?
-"God saved you by grace when you believed. And you can't take credit for this: It is a gift from God." -Ephesians 2:8
*So???? How do we return the favor, right? well, you prove your dedication back to him by spreading the word, and most of all... spending quality time with him every time. And remember it's not quantity, it's quality!

Hi Jay!
ReplyDeleteVery true. VERY true. He delivers a very sweet invitation, doesn't He?
Those are great thoughts, Jenny, thanks. I think it's important to remember, too, that grace is a gift. An unmerited, undeserved, gift with no strings attached. And we don't have to pay back a gift. That would defeat the purpose of a free gift. He doesn't ask us to prove anything to Him, just as our earthly parents don't expect us to prove our dedication and love to them. But rather, to accept His free gift of grace through faith. As a result, our love and obedience for Him will flow out as we continue to spend time and follow Him. It's definitely all about having a relationship with Him.
ReplyDeleteHi A!
ReplyDeleteI agree. I'm surprised by grace. Over and over again, I see its invisible presence - definitely a gift. I miss you.
Hi MomPom!
ReplyDeleteI miss you too! Thankfully, I have some beautiful curtains hanging in my kitchen windows that I look at everyday and am reminded of you.:) Also, did you really post that last comment at 2:51 am? What were you doing up?
I probably did. Some mornings I wake up too early!
